100:1-2
Music is a gift from God. In school we learnt that Music is
the combination of sound that pleases the ear. Music is one of those good things
in life. Music educates and entertains. But the world has taken this good gift
for evil purpose. Nowadays we are of its misuse and the shameful behavior so
often associated with music. But good music is a blessing from the Lord. It
soothes troubled hearts and motivates us to live for Christ. And through it we
lift our heart in praise to the Lord.
With a new appreciation for the expression music gives to
our souls, let us join voices with fellow believers and lift our hearts in
hymns of praise whenever we have the privilege. It's honoring to the Lord, it's
edifying to our brothers and sister in Christ. And it brings us joy. As you
join with other Christians in singing, do so with a renewed appreciation of
music. Sing to the Lord a new song!
